Master Johnnie


Master Johnnie founded Hilltop in 1996 and has been training students at Bukit Batok Nature Park every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ever since a group if his students opened Hilltop Academy in 2015, he holds classes at the gym every Sunday as well. 


Eugene Soon

Senior Trainer

A positive and determined senior Muay Thai trainer here at Hilltop Academy, Eugene comes with more than 10 years of Muay Thai experience. He believes people learn best when they're having fun, so you're guaranteed to have some laughs during his sessions.


Wilson Lau

Senior Trainer

With 10 years of trainer experience and 7 fights throughout the years, Wilson manages the fight team and has trained numerous fighters to compete both locally and internationally, in both the amateur and professional categories. You can expect to be repeatedly drilled on combinations till they've been committed to memory. 



Senior Trainer

Daniel possesses over a decade’s worth of experience as a Muay Thai practitioner. Upheld by his beliefs the way Muay Thai should be taught, there will always be new training methods used and joyous laughter in his class. He focuses on defensive technique while helping students build strong fundamentals. A patient giant,  Daniel adapts each Muay Thai training session to suit his students' pace, prioritizing technique.



Senior Trainer

With years under his wing as both a Muay Thai fighter and trainer, Murugan is more than well equipped with the experience and knowledge to be an excellent trainer. Here at Hilltop, he is adapt at teaching both beginners as well as fighters. Murugan also enjoys technical sparring sessions with students and uses these lighthearted opportunities to impart even more skill.

Kenzo (Kai)

Senior Trainer

Don't be fooled by Kai's friendly and cheerful demeanour; training sessions with Kai, though fun and full of laughs, will make you break a sweat like never before. If you decide to join him for technical sparring, do look out for his famous sniper jabs and sneaky sharp knees. 



Senior Trainer

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate, Toey is one of the most patient trainers ever. Apart from imparting authentic and traditional Muay Thai skills and technique, he also checks in with students regularly to ensure they are doing well in life. Feel free to approach him for constructive feedback any time!




One of the youngest trainers at Hilltop, Eric will surprise you with his professional attitude and unbeatable grit. With his focus on correct technique and power, Eric is one to constantly push you past your own limits and achieve more than you thought possible. 




Yi Hui, a tenacious individual, stays determined despite difficulties and remains disciplined in achieving his goals at all times. He believes in hustling and grinding for what you’re passionate about. Other than being enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge and experience in Muay Thai, Yi Hui also finds joy in passing on running tips to his students!




Garrett discovered his love for Muay Thai during his schooling days and has been actively participating in fights while also teaching at Hilltop Academy since. His fighting style is highly technical and he believes in prioritizing technique when training students.

Whether you're looking to improve your fitness, learn self-defense, or compete at a higher level, Cheng Rong is here to guide you on your Muay Thai journey. He’s committed to helping students achieve their best through disciplined training, personalized coaching, and unwavering support.




With his quick wit, you'll find yourself laughing hard and training harder during training sessions with Benedict. His encouraging and lighthearted personality has won the hearts of many students at Hilltop Academy as he frequently checks in with them. Ben is an advocate of putting in your 110% always. 

Sean Lua


Starting in his early teens, Sean developed a love for Muay Thai at just 14 years of age. As a Muay Thai trainer, Sean is able to ensure that his students pick up the fundamentals of The Art of Eight Limbs. Understanding the importance of a strong foundation, he makes sure you understand the hows and whys of each technique. 




Easily the biggest guy on the team, don't let the appearance of Hariz fool you. Classes with him are always fun, with our friendly and caring giant pushing you to reach your Zone 4 - Zone 5 heart rate. With his steadfast belief that you won't see results without putting in the work, Hariz will keep you on your toes throughout the class, ensuring you get all the bang for all your buck!
